According to the source consulted, according to the report from the British maritime trade monitoring body UKMTO, since September 29 eight tankers have been attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, most on the Omani side of the waterway. The incidents involved projectiles and drones of unidentified origin.

Iran has not claimed the attacks. UKMTO reported that an unidentified tanker turned around after receiving a warning from Iran's Revolutionary Guard. The British monitoring agency attributed responsibility to that force.

Crude exports from the region exceeded 17 million barrels per day in September, according to Kpler data cited in the report.

Iran and the United States remain locked in a standoff over control of the strait, a key route for oil transport.

UKMTO documented the incidents and pointed to Iran's Revolutionary Guard as the likely perpetrator. Iran has neither confirmed nor denied direct involvement. Shipping companies operating on the route face operational risks, with no confirmed casualties reported so far.
