On October 5, 2026, President Trump announced the creation of the Super Intelligence Force, a White House committee that will oversee the development of artificial intelligence in the United States. The group is led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton.

The committee includes Federal Trade Commission Chair Andrew Ferguson, Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering Emil Michael, and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor. It reports directly to Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

The announcement followed a White House meeting with AI industry executives who signed the White House Accord on Super Intelligence, a voluntary self-regulation agreement.

Trump stated on Truth Social that the force would coordinate federal efforts to ensure the United States leads in superintelligence and protects American interests. Clayton continues to serve as Director of National Intelligence.

The appointment places Clayton at the center of federal AI policy coordination while he retains his national intelligence role. Trump has emphasized the strategic priority of maintaining U.S. leadership in the field. The participation of officials from defense, trade and personnel agencies reflects the broad scope of the initiative aimed at aligning government resources behind U.S. dominance in superintelligence.
