María Corina Machado, leader of the Venezuelan opposition, posted a message on the X platform on 5 October 2026 congratulating Flávio Bolsonaro for his lead in the first round of Brazil’s presidential election.

In the text, Machado expressed respect and affection for the Brazilian people for what she called an exemplary democratic day. She recognized Flávio Bolsonaro as the winner of that first round and noted that Brazil will play a decisive role in the region’s future.

The post also conveyed the wish that Venezuela will soon advance along the path of freedom. The consulted sources agree that Flávio Bolsonaro received approximately 47 % of the vote and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva around 45 %, falling short of an absolute majority and therefore advancing both to a runoff scheduled for 25 October 2026.

Machado’s message constitutes a public statement of support for the Brazilian candidate. No additional documented reactions from other regional leaders appear in the consulted sources.
