International political figures extended congratulations and support to Senator Flávio Bolsonaro following his lead in the first round of Brazil's presidential election, securing his spot in a decisive runoff against incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva scheduled for October 25.
According to consulted sources, official preliminary counts with over 98% of tallies processed placed Bolsonaro at around 47% of the vote, holding a lead over Lula da Silva, who garnered between 44% and 45%. Reacting to the outcome, Argentine President Javier Milei described the election as a historic contest, celebrating the momentum of free-market principles in the neighboring nation and advocating for deepened bilateral cooperation. Likewise, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged the electoral performance and expressed readiness to restore close ties and bilateral friendship between both countries.
