Seven-year-old Venezuelan girl stabbed to death in Chicago
The attack occurred Saturday in the Chatham neighborhood; the assailant had no connection to the victim or her mother.
According to the source consulted, according to the consulted report, a seven-year-old Venezuelan girl identified as Edimari Hernández Chacón was stabbed multiple times and killed in Chicago on Saturday.
The attack occurred around 11:55 a.m. on October 3, 2026, in the 8600 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood. The girl was walking with her mother when an unidentified woman approached from behind and stabbed her in the back with a sharp object.
Bystanders detained the attacker until police arrived. The child was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The motive remains unknown and authorities have not released the suspect’s identity. The report indicates the attacker had no relationship with the victim or her mother. The family is from Villa Rosa on Margarita island, Venezuela.
