According to the consulted sources, Beatriz de Marino, mother of Hugo Marino Salas, urged Dinorah Figuera and members of the negotiation table between the 2015 National Assembly and chavismo to demand information from the government about her son's whereabouts.

Hugo Marino Salas was detained on April 20, 2019, by officials of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence after landing at Maiquetía International Airport. The family states that no official recognition of his detention or information on his location has been provided since.

The family denounces the situation as a forced disappearance and has pointed to the lack of an official life certificate. The case is subject to provisional measures from the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights since 2023, with no reported compliance by the Venezuelan State.

The mother specifically called for the case to be included in the ongoing negotiations.
