Gabriel Briceño, president of Fedecámaras Nueva Esparta, stated that the private business sector in the state signed an agreement with the Venezuelan company Swing Energy to obtain electric self-generation systems through financing.

Briceño said the deal aims to strengthen both the chamber’s institutions and companies in Nueva Esparta by providing access to equipment featuring innovations in renewable and sustainable energies. He noted that the financing terms will be favorable so that entrepreneurs and merchants can address ongoing problems with the national electric service.

The financing is intended to allow acquisition of technology oriented toward sustainable energy solutions. Swing Energy focuses on providing such solutions in Venezuela.

The announcement occurs against a backdrop of recurrent failures in the public power supply that affect commercial activity in the island region. No figures were released on amounts, timelines or the number of participating firms.

Gabriel Briceño, as president of Fedecámaras Nueva Esparta, led the negotiation of the agreement. Swing Energy supplies the equipment and the financing scheme. Fedecámaras Nueva Esparta serves as the business association intermediary to channel access for its members. The pact reflects an effort by the private sector to reduce reliance on the national grid through self-generation options using renewable technology, though its actual reach will depend on company uptake and the effective rollout of the credits.
