According to the source consulted, according to the report from the Venezuelan Society of Agronomists and Related Professionals, the entity issued an epidemiological-agricultural alert to producers nationwide over the heat wave and severe drought caused by the El Niño climate phenomenon.

SVIAA president Saúl Elías López warned that the drastic reduction in irrigation water volumes threatens plantings in the north-summer cycle, particularly rice, beans, sesame and sunflower. López stated that this extreme heat wave, the harshest in years, compels producers to rethink field operations to avoid economic losses.

The SVIAA activated an information guide available in the Crediagro app, part of the Agroo Educa program recognized by the IICA. The recommendations call for assessing soil moisture before planting or fertilizing, using stubble and plant covers, applying minimal tillage, controlling weeds and monitoring historical rainfall patterns.
