National Assembly deputy Nicolás Maduro Guerra publicly stated that he will not rest until he sees the return of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores to Venezuela. The statement was released on the social media platform X to mark nine months since their apprehension in the Venezuelan capital by United States forces in early January.

According to consulted sources, both Maduro and Flores face federal charges in New York for alleged conspiracy to import cocaine and weapons possession. Their defense teams have requested the dismissal of the indictment by citing sovereign immunity arguments, while a joint trial before federal Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein has been tentatively scheduled for June 1, 2027.

Alongside the main proceedings, Flores's legal defense filed a bail petition grounded on health complications during detention. Federal prosecutors opposed pretrial release by citing flight risk, amid a case timeline where supervisory prosecutor Jason A. Richman stepped down in late September. Concurrently, messages expressing gratitude for expressions of solidarity and loyalty were posted through the official X account of Nicolás Maduro.

Nicolás Maduro Guerra, aged 35, serves as a deputy in the National Assembly for the ruling party and has acted as a family spokesperson throughout the ongoing litigation in the U.S. court.
