The US House of Representatives approved a concurrent resolution on September 15 directing the president to remove US armed forces from hostilities with Iran.

The measure, H.Con.Res.93, passed by a vote of 220 to 204 under section 5(c) of the War Powers Resolution.

The resolution includes exceptions for forces required to defend the United States, an ally or a partner against an imminent attack, provided the president complies with reporting requirements.

The sponsor is Representative Seth Moulton, Democrat of Massachusetts. The resolution was introduced in April and referred to the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Concurrent resolutions are not presented to the president and do not have the force of statute.
