According to the source consulted, according to a report consulted this Sunday, Jhan Cortés, safety and health advisor for the Asociación de Comerciantes por Aragua, stated that electrical rationing and outages in the state have driven increases in workplace accidents and employee absenteeism in companies he advises.

Cortés reported that among the 25 firms under his advisory, accidents rose 16% and absenteeism rose 25%, both tied to sleep deprivation that impairs concentration, raises stress and produces anxiety.

He explained that the blackouts, which occur without prior notice at night and during daytime production hours, cause drowsiness leading to upper-limb injuries and route accidents on the way to and from work.

Cortés called on state agencies to set scheduled rationing blocks so companies can plan production and reduce risks to jobs.
